"On the 9.4.40 EINMO was fishing with Bernhard SELNES in Lofoten aboard the motor vessel "SMOEN". Upon hearing news of the invasion they returned home, where EINMO remained inactive until July 1940. [...] He then went in search of work to Mossjøen and found eployment on the railroad which was in the process of being built at that place, where he spent about seven months. [...] He resided with an old crofter called anders STORVIK, together with four or five other workmen. There appears to have been much talk of the possibility of compulsory employment and in fact that one would not be able to resign ones job.

EINMO states that he became resentful of these German regulations and threw up his job, returning home Christmas 1940 where he remained until the middle of January 1941, when he rejoined the motor vessel "HELLA". She fished for herring in Lofoten and returned in the middle of April 1941. [...]

He afterwards occupied himself with farm work and small fishing until January 1942 when he again proceeded to the Lofoten Islands aboard the motor vessel "SMOEN", and was with her until April when he took a job at hte codliver oil plant at Vaerøy belonging to an old acquintance M. BENJAMINSEN, a fish buyer. He remained there until June 1942 when he returned home."

"Arrived Sweden from Norway on 16.9.42. Arrived U.K. from Sweden on 1.2.43."
