Fra Haugesunds Avis onsdag 2. november 1949: "Kongens fortjenstmedalje i sølv med diplom er tildelt utskreven kvartermester Andreas Lindø, Sakkestad, Skåre for de store tjenester han har ytet landet siden frigjøringa i U.A.M.

Lindø tjenstgjorde også i den norske marine under hele krigen, i den lengste tiden i tokt og våpentransport på Norge. Han innehar tidligere krigsmedaljen med H.K.H. Kronprinsens diplom, samt diplom fra den britiske marine".
