Killie er i mannskapslisten til skipet "St. Mary" da skipet ankom New York 3. mars 1942 fra Cap-Haïtien, Haiti.
Det antydes at han flyttet til USA, og giftet seg med Marion Ruth Gallagher (Orleans, Louisiana) i 1926.
I en artikkel i "The Master, Mate & Pilot" vol. 41, issue 6, side 20, står det:
"Odd Julian Killie , 90, died May 30. A pensioner since 1973 and a resident of Chalmette, La., he last sailed for
Lykes Brothers Steamship Co. as third mate of the SS Frederick Lykes."Sources
