Informal outdoors portrait of Charles Matthew Lacy [Lacey], aged 22 years, a prisoner of war (POW) at Marlag and Milag North [Marlag und Milag Nord], a Naval or Merchant Marine personnel POW camp. Lacy, of Brisbane, Qld, is standing outside Hut 19, the barracks building in which he lived with other POWs. He had been serving as a gunner on the Norwegian Motor Tanker 'Teddy' when it was captured by the German raider Atlantis and sunk in the Bay of Bengal on 8 November 1940.Copyright: Copyright expired - public domain / Ukjent fotograf / Australian War Memorial
