  Sjømannen vitnet ved sjøforklaring holdt den 3. april 1917, ved det norske konsulat i Bordeaux, etter at DS MORILD I ble senket den 29/3-1917 i pos. 3 n.m. NW av Hourtin Light, Gironde av tysk ubåt UC 69 på reise Oporto til Cardiff med props. Alle reddet.
