  I hovedrullen står Klep i Fjære som oppholdssted. Det har vel vært midlertidig, siden Staale Tobias hele tiden mønstret fra Chr.sand. De to fartøyene ”Olaf” og ”Emil” har jeg ikke funnet i noe register. Det var små skip, på hhv 34.5 og 80 comm.lester.
  Fra juni til sept 1861 gjorde Staale Tobias orlogstjeneste på fregatt ”St. Olaf” i Horten.
